JFSCNJ celebrates Older Adult Month with May 24 community walk
Jewish Family Service of Central NJ’s Lifelong Elizabeth program’s Lifelong Elizabeth and Partners Intergenerational Community Walk is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, at 10 a.m. The walk, in recognition of Older Adult Month, will be on the Elizabeth River Trail from South Broad Street (across from the library) to Pearl Street and back. The rain date is May 25.
Lifelong Elizabeth welcomes everyone in the community. Walk partners include AARP Elizabeth Chapter 5439, the City of Elizabeth, Elizabeth Police Department, Elizabeth Public Library, Elizabeth Public Schools, Groundwork Elizabeth, Housing Authority City of Elizabeth, Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Trinitas Regional Medical Center – RWJBarnabas Health, and Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition.
After the walk, there will be a short presentation from the police department about walking safety, a safety vest giveaway, refreshments, and some exercise.
Lifelong Elizabeth is a Grotta Fund for Senior Care funded program through JFSCNJ.
