JFSCNJ intergenerational program with Union County Holocaust survivors

A group of Holocaust survivors, their caregivers, volunteers from Congregation Israel in Springfield, and volunteers and staff from the Jewish Family Service of Central NJ recently enjoyed brunch and musical entertainment by Joe Pace, in the Mitzi & Warren Eisenberg Multi-Purpose Center at the JFSCNJ Halpern Building in Elizabeth.
The program was organized by JFSCNJ board member Seth Huttel, JFSCNJ director of Holocaust services Debbie Rosenwein, and JFSCNJ director of outreach and volunteers Danielle McLeer. Volunteers Greta Polinitza and Ilana Janette, a JFSCNJ student intern, also were at the brunch, which was part of the B’Yachad, Together Program, through a grant from the Grotta Fund for Older Adults. The Wilf Family Foundations funded for the event. Participation from the Babich, Huttel, Janette, Sheps, and Zeffern families added to the singing and dancing. Family volunteers made Rosh Hashanah cards and drew pictures for the survivors.
