Joe Cook
Joe Cook, 88, of Ocean Township died Oct. 9, 2010. He was born in Newark and lived in Ocean for most of his life.
Mr. Cook was an engineer at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown for 25 years before retiring in 1973. During the 1950s and 1960s he worked on weather balloons and satellites, radar systems, and other military defense projects.
He was a past president and member of the JWV Post 125, Asbury Park, and a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers and the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Inc.
He was a founding member and past president of Temple Beth Torah, Ocean, now Congregation Torat El.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Annette; his son, Miles of Wall; his daughter, Bonnie Cook Belilty of Atlantic Highlands; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 12 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
