Judith Wahler

Judith Orleans Wahler, 95, of Livingston died Sept. 3, 2017. Born in Newark, she moved to Livingston in 1951. 

Mrs. Wahler and her husband Karel were founding members of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex, Livingston. 

She had many jobs, but was well known as the FUNDAY Puppeteer. After retiring, she volunteered teaching ESL at the Livingston Public Library. 

Predeceased by her husband of 67 years, she is survived by two daughters, Karen (Richard) Solomon of Kenosha, Wis., and Jill (Thomas) Cunningham of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; three sons, William of Chicago, Charles (Sally) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and James (Lisa) of Livingston; a brother, Julian Orleans of Livingston; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Services were held Sept. 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston library’s ESL program.
