Kean University Holocaust center offers program
Kean University’s Holocaust Resource Center and its Holocaust Resource Foundation present “The Counterfeit Countess: The Jewish Woman Who Rescued Thousands of Poles During the Holocaust” with Dr. Elizabeth White and Dr. Joanna Sliwa. The annual Murray Pantirer Memorial Scholar lecture is on Tuesday,, December 3, at 7 p.m., in the STEM Auditorium at Kean University in Union.
Drawing on Dr. Josephine Janina Mehlberg’s unpublished memoir, supplemented with research, Elizabeth White and Kean University alumna Joanna Sliwa, professional historians and Holocaust experts, have uncovered Dr. Mehlberg’s story. They interweave her personal testimony with historical narrative.
