Kenneth Helrich
Kenneth Helrich, 89, of Marlboro died July 19, 2013. Born in Atlantic City, he resided in North Brunswick before moving to Marlboro in 1988.
Prior to retiring in 1985, Mr. Helrich, a research chemist, was a professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where he taught and did research for 38 years.
He was a member of Sigma Xi, an honorary scientific research society. He also was editor of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists Office Methods of Analysis, a methodology relied upon and used by scientists worldwide.
He was a congregant of Temple Shalom in Aberdeen.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice Rosen Helrich; two sons, David of Long Branch and Howard (Robin) of Hopkinton, NH; his daughter, Marsha (Howard) Schwartz of Marlboro; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 22 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter, 40 Marcus Drive, Suite 100, Melville, NY 11747.
