Lawrence Jacobs
Lawrence Robert Jacobs, 72, a lifelong resident of West Orange, died Sept. 9, 2018.
Mr. Jacobs worked as commercial and private pilot, a flight instructor, a helicopter instructor, and a glider instructor. He was a graduate of New York Military Academy, the University of Rochester, Temple University, and Dartmouth College.
He was a U.S. Marine.
He also was a scuba diving instructor, member of the New York Stock Exchange, an EMT, and a member of the Freemasons, through which he did extensive charity work, particularly helping children.
He is survived by a sister, Lois Rosenthal Fossum of Arkansas; a nephew, Peter Rosenthal; and his extended family and friends.
Services were held Sept. 16 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
