Learn to be a home health aide

The Jewish Family Service of Central NJ offers a four-week Certified Home Health Aide training class that runs from August 1 to 25. Classes are held Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half hour lunch break.

Maria Mullen, RN, JFSCNJ’s director of nursing, said, “the course will put you on the path to a new career as a Certified Home Health Aide, a field that is rapidly growing and in high demand.”

It will be determined if all lectures will be done remotely. The skills portion will be done on-site in JFSCNJ’s state-of-the-art training lab at the JFS Halpern Building, 655 Westfield Ave., in Elizabeth. The course, funded by JFSCNJ and the Fred C. Rummel Foundation, meets all of the requirements of the NJ Board of Nursing. It costs $75 for books and materials.

An interview and pre-screening is required to be accepted into the program. For more information, email info@jfscentralnj.org or call (908) 352-8375.
