Third-graders at Temple B’nai Abraham of Livingston’s Jewish Learning Program participated in Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month with a series of lessons on inclusion and difference. They walked through stations designed to help them understand and absorb what life might be like for someone differently-abled and explored the Jewish concept of chesed. According to student Ethan Avigdor, “Think of the kind thing to do before anything else.” Classmate Andrew Yoser added, “Be thoughtful and come up with creative ideas if someone can’t do the activity you wanted to do.”
