Lee P. Merel

Lee P. Merel, 86, of South Orange died Nov. 2, 2010. Born in Germany, he came to the United States at age 13, and spent most of his life in New Jersey.

Mr. Merel was the owner of Made Well Furniture Store in New Brunswick.

He was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a longtime member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth and a current member of Oheb Shalom Congregation, South Orange.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Lander Merel; two daughters, Sharon Kronman of South Orange and Helene Feinberg of Warren; his son, Gary of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 4 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Oheb Shalom Congregation.
