Leo Wortman
Leo Wortman, 99, of South Orange died June 4, 2011. Born in New York, he also had lived in Newark and Irvington.
Mr. Wortman retired from Capital Lighting after 25 years. He also was retired from the County of Essex.
He was a long time member of the A.A.B.C. Temple and B’nai Israel in Irvington, where he was actively involved in fund-raising and men’s club activities. He was also a member of Hadassah, B’nai B’rith, and Deborah.
Predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Ruth, he is survived by two sons, Stephen of Holmdel and Henry of Newton; his daughter, Inez Ehrenkranz of Millburn; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 6 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Ephraim-Maplewood Jewish Center.
