Leon Bauman
Leon Bauman, 74, of Parsippany died July 6, 2013. Born in Boston, he grew up in Queens. He spent most of his life in New Jersey, raising his family in Parsippany.
Mr. Bauman spent much of his career as an electrical engineer working for defense electronics contractors throughout the tri-state area. His projects included missile guidance systems and fighter aircraft weapon control systems and he designed test equipment and wrote operating and maintenance manuals.
He was a 1960 graduate of New York University’s College of Engineering in the Bronx, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He received a master’s degree in applied sciences from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY, in 1965. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU’s Graduate Engineering School in 1969.
He was a longtime member of Lake Hiawatha Jewish Center and Adat Israel Congregation in Boonton, where he served in various volunteer capacities.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ellie; three sons, David (Elisa) of Bethesda, Md., Steven of Bowie, Md., and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Madison; and four grandchildren.
