Leon Hander
Leon Hander, 96, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Sept. 14, 2017. Born in Orange, he lived and raised his family in West Orange before retiring to Monroe Township and later Boynton Beach.
Mr. Hander was a partner/founder of the CPA firm Hander, Hymanson & Gruskin, formerly Hander & Stein of Bloomfield. He retired in 1996.
He graduated from Orange High School and from Upsala College with a degree in accounting in 1948.
He served in World War II, stationed in both Okinawa and Korea.
He was a former member of Temple Emanu-El of Livingston.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Claudia (Russ); three daughters, Jocelyn Schnier and Marla J. Hander of New York City and Laurie Leahy of Yorktown Heights, N.Y; and a grandchild.
Services were held Sept. 19 with arrangements by Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach.
