Leonard Kommit

Leonard “Lenny” Kommit, 86, of Paterson died March 27, 2020. He grew up and spent most of his life in Paterson.

Mr. Kommit worked as a schoolteacher, cab driver, and for many years as a security guard.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Military Academy class of 1955, where he majored in political science. He was a Jewish war veteran.

He was active with the Fair Lawn Senior Center. He was also an active shul member of the Federation Apartments in Paterson.

Predeceased by his brother, Bernard, he is survived by many cousins, including Shelley Lewin-Healy of Caldwell and Al Bresnick of Freehold.

Services were held March 31 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
