Leonard Morvay

Leonard Morvay, 90, of Millburn died Nov. 11, 2010. Born and raised in Newark, he moved to Millburn 60 years ago.

Mr. Morvay was the founder and president of Morvay Advertising, South Orange, retiring 10 years ago. He was an adjunct professor of marketing and advertising at Rutgers-Newark and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison.

He received an MBA from New York University.

He was a former member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Millburn, where he served as a member of the board and past president of the men’s club. He was an active member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun, where he served on many committees, the Brotherhood, and the Renaissance Group.

He was past president of Kiwanis of Springfield and Millburn and served as a volunteer on the Millburn Fire Department. He chaired the annual Halloween Parade and served as Marshall for the Junior Fire Brigade, Millburn.

He served the United States during World War II.

Predeceased by his daughter Judy Bridges, he is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Ruth; a daughter, Roslyn Morvay; his son, Steven; a sister, Babette Bramnick; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 14 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
