Lester Senior Living offers open house, respite stays

Lester Senior Living in Whippany is offering short-term respite stays for seniors who need help with daily living tasks, at its Judy & Josh Weston Assisted Living Residence.

The program, which is available from 10 days to two months, includes a decorated, well-equipped apartment; three meals daily in the community’s dining room; an assistance alert pendant; wellness services from the nursing team; and a full range of activities. A pre-stay wellness assessment is done for prospective guests.

“Respite stays keep older adults safe and secure under the watchful eye of professional staff while caregivers take a much-needed break, and enable our guests to sample the Lester lifestyle,” said administrator Marlene Glass, LNHA, CALA. Seniors who decide to make their permanent home there can convert from respite to permanent residency based on availability.

The community also offers individualized dementia care in its Memory Care Suite — including short-term respite stays there for those who qualify — and independent living in its Margaret & Martin Heller Independent Living Apartments.

An open house that will detail the various living options, including respite stays, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 3:30 p.m. at Lester Senior Living, located at 903-905 Rt. 10 East in Whippany on the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus.

To RSVP or for more information, contact David Rozen, admissions/marketing manager, at 973-929-2725.
