Marcia A. Weinstein
Marcia Adria Weinstein (Weiner), 84, of Roseland died Jan. 22, 2016. Born in the Bronx, she also had lived in Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Weinstein graduated from Hunter College in 1952 with a degree in economics. She later became a special education teacher.
She was a member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, South Orange, where she operated the gift shop for several years and participated in the Renaissance Group, Women’s Connection, and many committees. She was one of the founding members of the environmental action group Roseland Against Compressor Station. A life-long Democrat, she was an active participant in politics and social action endeavors.
Predeceased by her husband of 32 years, David, she is survived by two daughters, Miriam of Warwick, RI, and Judith (Mathew MacCumber) of Chicago; a sister, Molla Tiffen; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 26 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care, Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, or a charity supporting justice, human rights, or the environment.
