Marianne Tarmy
Marianne Tarmy (Newman), 83, of Berkeley Heights died Dec. 5, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, she had been a resident of Berkeley Heights for over 50 years.
Before retiring, Mrs. Tarmy was employed as a special education teacher at Fair Oaks Hospital in Summit.
She earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees while her five children were still small.
She was active at Temple Sinai in Summit and in the Free Acres Association and Q Group.
She is survived by her husband, Barry; her children, Michele Blake of North Easton, Mass., Lauren Franck of Livingston, Stuart Tarmy of West Orange, Leslie Farin of Plano, Texas, and Mark Tarmy of Wilsonville, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 8 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to New Jersey Community Food Bank or Temple Sinai.
