Martin Fass
Martin (“Marty”) Fass, 82, of New Rochelle, N.Y., formerly of Boca Raton, Fla.; Rockaway; and Parsippany, died April 17, 2020. He was born in Jersey City and raised in North Bergen.
Mr. Fass became a Certified Public Accountant at the age of 21 and owned a private practice in Parsippany until he merged his practice in 2009, which then became known as Goodman, O’Malley, Rosamilia, Voorman & Fass LLC in Cedar Knolls. He was also an entrepreneur, financial adviser, author, and speaker.
He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he was a founding member of the Alpha Pi Omega fraternity, with a B.S. in accounting.
Actively engaged in his business and religious communities, he gave many years of service to Knights of Pythias, Rotary Club of Parsippany, Parsippany Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Society of CPAs, Lake Hiawatha Jewish Center, Israel Bonds, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, and Hebrew Academy of Morris County (now Gottesman RTW Academy).
An avid golfer and boating enthusiast, he spent much time at the Knoll Golf Club, The Club at Boca Pointe, Lake Hopatcong, and Garden State Yacht Club.
Predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Peres), in 2008, he is survived by three daughters, Maxine (Daniel) Berg of Wilton, Conn., Melanie (Steven) Glass of West Orange, and Deborah (Brad) Jacobs of Chappaqua, N.Y.; two brothers, Stanley of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Joe of Bridgewater; and nine grandchildren.
Services and a private burial were held April 19. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish National Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
