Marvin B. Alexander
Marvin B. Alexander, 79, of Palm Beach, Fla., died Jan. 11, 2011. Born in Trenton, he also resided in Long Beach Island.
Mr. Alexander was employed for 35 years in various positions in the Solid State, Video Disk, and American Communications divisions of RCA. When GE purchased RCA, he moved into sales and marketing functions for cable television satellites, where he remained until the first two cable satellites were launched. He retired shortly thereafter.
He was a 1949 graduate of Trenton Central High School. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in economics and from Stevens Institute of Technology.
He was an Army veteran of Korea serving in the American sector of Berlin.
He was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sholin Alexander; two sons, Jay of Boyds, Md., and Ira of Cranford; his daughter, Ilene Estes of Blue Bell, Pa.; a sister, Frances Dobin of Danville, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 13 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Abramson Center for Jewish Life, North Wales, Pa.
