Maurice Soussa
Maurice Soussa, 89, of Montville died Nov. 6, 2018. Born in Hillah, Iraq, he escaped and immigrated to America in 1952 following violent pogroms targeting the Jewish community.
Mr. Soussa worked as an engineer in the mining operations of Shahmoon Industry and, later, McWilliams Forge, both in Rockaway. In the late ’60s he changed careers and worked as a commercial real estate broker and developer.
He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in engineering in 1955.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Esther; his son, Ron (Annette) of Montville; his daughter, Donna (Kenneth) of Merrick, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
