Melvin Knopf, 87, of Farmington Hills, Mich., died Oct. 9, 2019. He was born in New York City.
Mr. Knopf was an aerospace engineer with Ford Aerospace in Detroit. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Predeceased by his wife, Heather Ann, and daughter, Anita Dougherty, he is survived by son Jay Knopf of Teaneck; daughter Fern Akrish of Plainview, N.Y.; stepson Rick Handley of Denver; sister Edith Kay of Hillside; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a step-great-grandchild.
Services were held Oct. 13 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem Academy c/o Jay Knopf.
