Melvin Ostrow
Melvin Ostrow of Springfield died Oct. 9, 2019. Born in Riverside, he lived in Mt. Holly, Philadelphia, New Brunswick, and London before moving to Springfield 39 years ago.
Mr. Ostrow was the CIO (chief information officer) for Jenner + Block in Chicago before retiring in 2009.
He earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University and an M.B.A. from Pace University.
He was a president of Congregation Israel, Springfield, for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Dana (Seth Theriault) and Jamie; his son, Jonathan (Rachel); a brother, Harold; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 11 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Israel or Golda Och Academy.
