Memorial Torah to be dedicated on October 7 in Mendham
Chabad of Mendham and Chester will host a Torah dedication ceremony at Brookside Community Club, with a memorial service in memory of October 7 terror victims, music, and traditional dancing, on October 7 at 6:30 p.m. Cantor Shmuli Hurwitz of Crown Heights will lead the Torah procession. Funding for the memorial Torah was provided by the Goldenberg family of Mendham in memory of their son Marc. The event is free and open for the community.
A sofer will complete the Torah at the Mendham ceremony on October 7.
The Torah writing began with sofrim in Israel writing letters with several families who lost loved ones on October 7. The families were honored by inscribing a letter in this Torah to be used in Mendham, in memory of their loved ones. Besides the Gamzo family, shown here, the families of Shani Amin, 18, and Nir Popov, 25, were there. For more information, go to ChabadMC.org/TorahEvent
