Michael Sturm
Michael Sturm, 70, of Scotch Plains died Dec. 17, 2017. Born in Newark, he grew up in Union and Millburn.
Mr. Sturm played violin professionally before entering a career in enterprise technology sales in the late 1970s.
He graduated from Rutgers University in 1970 and the University of Binghamton’s graduate musicology program. He also attended the University of North Carolina’s Ph.D. music program.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; his daughter, Lauren Sturm (William Jr.) Marinaro of Scotch Plains; his son, Matthew of Washington, D.C.; a brother, David of Morristown; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 20 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
