Mildred Metsky Lipton, 99, of Dedham, Mass., died Feb. 13, 2015. Born and raised in Newark, she also had lived in Livingston and Atlantic City.
Mrs. Lipton was politically active as a Newark city councilwoman.
A life member of Hadassah, B’nai B’rith, and American Jewish Congress, she spent much of her time working for Jewish causes.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Lipton (Dale) Okonow of Needham, Mass.; two sons, Roger (Mary) of New York City and David of Beachwood; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 16 with arrangements by Roth-Goldsteins’ Memorial Chapel, Atlantic City.
