Miriam Weshnak
Miriam Weshnak (Gruber), 91, of Springfield died Nov. 13, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Newark and Union before moving to Springfield six years ago.
Mrs. Weshnak was a claims examiner for Prudential Insurance in Woodbridge for many years before retiring in 1983.
She earned an associate’s degree from Brooklyn Community College.
A member of the Deborah Heart and Lung Association, she was a founding member of B.C.M. of Deborah, Hillside chapter.
Predeceased by her husband, Samuel, she is survived by three sons, David N. of Warrenburg, Mo., Allan H. of Orlando, Fla., and Howard M. of Rockaway; her daughter, Lori L. Weshnak-Needleman of Springfield; a brother, Leon Gruber of Long Valley; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Nov. 14 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains; or the Alzheimer’s Association.
