Morton Kaufman

Morton R. Kaufman, 92, of Fanwood died April 21, 2015. Born in Newark, he also had resided in Metuchen, Edison, and Boynton Beach, Fla. 

Mr. Kaufman retired in 1991 as a senior partner of Kaufman, Diamond & Company in Edison. He was a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Municipal Accountant.

He was a graduate of Rutgers University’s class of 1947. 

He served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. 

He was a member of Neve Shalom, Metuchen, and B’nai B’rith. He was a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He was past president and treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Metuchen and a member of the Metuchen Senior Citizens Commission. He was a Democratic Committeeman in Metuchen. He volunteered for Cancer Research of Coral Lakes in Florida. He also volunteered for JFK Hospital, Jewish Family Services, and Meals on Wheels. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose; two daughters, Debra Kaufman of Westport, Conn., and Deborah (Leon) Lubranski of Scotch Plains; two sons, Michael Kaufman of Chester and Lawrence (Cynthia) Goldman of Westfield; and four grandchildren.

Services were held April 22 with arrangements by Flynn and Son Funeral Home, Fords. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research in Coral Lakes, Neve Shalom, or American Heart Association.
