Murry Opatosky
Murry Opatosky, 93, of Wall Township died April 2, 2017. He was born in New York City.
Mr. Opatosky was a salesman and owned Hansen Food Service for many years. He later worked as a toll collector for the New Jersey Highway Authority.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a life member and four-term commander of Jewish War Veterans Post 125, commander of Monmouth-Ocean County Council Jewish War Veterans, a life member of American Legion Post 24 and Disabled American Veterans, chair of the Veterans Facility Council NJ Veterans Memorial Home, board chair of General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and chair of Monmouth County Veterans Interment.
He was a member of Temple Beth Torah, serving on the board of trustees and the men’s club board. He was a board member of the Jewish Community Center, Deal Park, and Monmouth County Council Jewish National Fund.
Predeceased by his first wife, Annabelle, and second wife, Sandi, he is survived by two sons, Stephen (Sarah) and Miles (Donna); six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 4 with arrangements by Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Chabad of the Shore, Long Branch.
