Nacie Salny
Nacie Salny of Morristown died Feb. 9, 2017. She was born in 1917 in Paterson and has lived in Morristown since her marriage.
Following a brief career teaching art, she became the art and entertainment editor for the Daily Record, where she worked from 1966 to 1977. During that time, she was invited to become a charter board member of the Arts Council of the Morris Area and remained an active member for many years. She also held positions as an art tour director and art coordinator for AT&T Corporation in Basking Ridge, judged many area art shows, and did other freelance assignments.
She graduated from Douglass College with a major in art.
She had been an active member of Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael, including coordinating the Art-o-Rama, a comprehensive charity art show sponsored by local synagogues. In addition, she was a lifetime member of Cedar Hill Country Club in Livingston, where she won several golf awards, and Boca Raton Country Club, where she was a member of its Hole-in-One Club.
Predeceased by her husband, Stuart, she is survived by two sons, Glen (Barbara) of Randolph and Ron (Susan) of Rockaway Township; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Private services were held with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Shalom, Succasunna, or Adath Shalom, Morris Plains.
