Naomi Lebowitz
Naomi Lebowitz, 92, of Lake Hiawatha and West Orange died Nov. 24, 2014.
Mrs. Lebowitz, a Holocaust survivor, joined the Polish Resistance, the Polnichsen, with Michael, her future husband. They settled in the United States and founded Albert’s Market in Newark and later Merit Market in East Orange.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by two sons, Joel (Sharon) of Lake Hiawatha and Robert of Basking Ridge, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 26 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Somerville.
