Newark shul to give tikkun olam awards
Newark’s Congregation Ahavas Sholom, which is celebrating its centennial on Broadway in Newark, will honor people committed to tikkun olam on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m., at the shul. The celebration will include kosher refreshments, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, music and entertainment, networking, and the awards program.
Ahavas Sholom is Newark’s last remaining synagogue left from the great European migration there at the turn of the 20th century.
Isabell Adler, Dr. Marion Bolden, Craig Drinkard, Warren Grover, Celia King, Adam Saravay, Councilwoman Louise Scott-Rountree, Paul Tractenberg, and Liz Del Tufo will receive the 2025 Tikkun Olam awards this year.
