NEWMAN-MINERVA

Wendy and Scott Newman of North Caldwell announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel, to Corey Minerva, son of Mindy and Daniel Minerva of Locust.

Ms. Newman, a graduate of Newark Academy in Livingston, earned her degree in human development from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She is a special events manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City.

Mr. Minerva, a graduate of Blair Academy in Blairstown, also attended Cornell University and earned his degree in hotel management. He is a business manager at Empire Merchants in New York.

Ms. Newman is also the granddaughter of Betty Newman of Short Hills and Phyllis and Mac Gavin of Monroe Township.

A Sept. 5, 2015, wedding is planned.
