Online resources of Jewish Historical Society
JEWISH HISTORICAL SOCIETY (JHS), a partner agency of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, offers many free, online resources. Researchers, and those interested in learning more about the history of Jewish life in what is known as Greater MetroWest (Essex, Morris, Union, Sussex, and portions of Somerset County), can search the JHS website at jhs-nj.org.
Also accessible on the site are the digitized pages of The Jewish News (1947-2016) and The Jewish Horizon (1992-1997). In addition, JHS staff members, who are working remotely, are available to answer your questions. Executive director Linda Forgosh can be reached at lforgosh@jfedgmw.org or 973-929-2994. Archivist Jill Hershorin can be reached at jhershorin@jfedgmw.org or 973-929-2995.
