Opening of spring Jewish Film Festival of Central NJ

THE JEWISH FILM Festival of Central NJ is pleased to present films this spring at the New Vision Rialto Theatre in Westfield.  Screenings run through May 7. All films start at 7:30 p.m.

Next up is “Ben-Gurion: Epilogue” on Wednesday, April 25. This documentary is a rare and fortuitous piece of cinematic archeology which imparts new insights into David Ben-Gurion, a treasured historic figure. Amir Sagie, deputy consul general of Israel, will join for a post-film discussion.

“Humor Me,” showing on Tuesday, May 1, stars Elliot Gould.  It is a heartfelt father-son comedy about a struggling playwright who is forced to move in with his joke-telling dad in a New Jersey retirement community.

Closing night on Monday, May 7, features “The Last Suit,” about an aging Jewish tailor who leaves his life in Argentina to journey back through time and halfway around the world to find the man who saved him from death at Auschwitz in this bittersweet road trip movie.

Visit jccnj.org for more information, movie trailers, and pricing. Tickets can be purchased online at jccnj.org, by mail, or in person at the JCC in Scotch Plains.

The Jewish Film Festival of Central NJ is made possible by funds from the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
