Paterson Museum exhibit examines photograph preservation
The Paterson Museum opens its newest changing exhibit, “A Story Without Words: Preserving Paterson’s Photographic Legacy,” on July 8. It will include images that reflect Paterson’s Jewish community. The exhibition will explore historic images of the greater Paterson area, and the various types of photographic negative and prints that have been used at different historical period, and the challenges of preserving and sharing those images.
The museum says that “many of us take photographs and images for granted. In the modern world, visuals are everywhere. However, because of the ease of access to digital photographs today, we sometimes forget the care and attention that must be taken with older images.”
This exhibit is presented in collaboration with the Passaic County Historical Society and will be on display through September 6. The Paterson Museum is in the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. For information, go to patersonmuseum.com, on Facebook and Instagram.
