Peter Layne

Peter Layne, 68, of Essex Fells died Oct. 6, 2013.

Mr. Layne was a cofounder of Arc Com Fabrics, a distributor of commercial fabrics in Orangeburg, NY, along with his brother Jeffrey, in 1972.

He was a past president of the Association of Contract Textile Manufacturers, a board member and golf outing chairman of the Banyan School of Little Falls, a member of the Montclair Golf Club, vice president of the Stationers Golf Association, and a board member of the Essex Fells Police Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Beth; four daughters, Dari, Tracy, Jessica, and Nicole; his mother, Marjorie Levine; and a brother, Jeffrey.

Services were held Oct. 8 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Cedar Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the New York Presbyterian Hospital and, in the check’s memo line, “Dr. Allyson Ocean Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Fund for Peter Layne,” sent to Ms. Kristen Kidder, Office of Development, NY-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, 525 East 68th St., Box 123, New York, NY 10065.
