Philip Baker

Philip Baker, 93, of Mountainside died Dec. 29, 2017. Born in Jeannette, Pa., he lived in Wildwood, Baltimore, and Bayonne before moving to Springfield, where he lived for more than 55 years. He moved to Warren last year and then to Mountainside this past year. 

Mr. Baker worked his entire career in newspaper advertising for many newspapers, including The Star Ledger, where he was its advertising manager. His last work was for CBA Industries of Elmwood Park, producers of Sunday newspaper circular advertising. 

He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Temple University, Philadelphia. 

Predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline, he is survived by his daughter, Jody Baker Goodman (Michael Rosenberg) of Florham Park; a brother, Emanuel of Los Angeles; and two grandsons. 

Services were held Jan. 2 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
