Quality Jewish education
We were glad to see a tribute to the recipients of the Grinspoon/Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education (“Foundations honor local Jewish educators,” Sept. 2). The Jewish Federation of Central New Jersey is proud to have conferred the nomination of Robin Wander, coordinator of the early childhood program at our partner agency, the JCC of Central New Jersey.
On Oct. 14, at the Jewish Federation of Central New Jersey’s Professional Development Seminar for Religious School and Early Childhood educators, we will present a check in the amount of $1,000 to Robin Wander from the federation to acknowledge her many contributions and achievements as an early childhood educator. This gift will be in conjunction with the professional development stipend awarded to Robin by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the Steinhardt Foundation, and the Jewish Education Service of North America. This is the third consecutive year that our federation is participating in this award. We strongly encourage and promote high-quality Jewish education within our community.
We consider Jewish education to be a top priority of our federation’s mission. To that end, we also participate as a partner to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in The PJ Library (Jewish bedtime stories and songs for children ages six months to seven years) and as a partner to Compedia in JLand, a secure, on-line virtual world for Jewish children ages four to 10.
