Remembering Pittsburgh

Temple Beth Shalom of Livingston and the Golda Och Academy in West Orange will present “Remembering Pittsburgh: Strengthening the Tree of Life.” The program will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the massacre at the shul in Pittsburgh and remember the 11 Jews who were killed there. An excerpt from the HBO documentary “A Tree of Life” will be shown and there will be a short discussion about security in houses of worship.

Rabbi Simeon Cohen of Temple Beth Shalom and Golda Och Academy’s head of school, Rabbi Daniel Nevins, will discuss resiliency during this time of rising antisemitism.

The program is set for Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m., at Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston. It’s free and open to the public. To RSVP, call the synagogue at (973) 992-3600.

Because there are disturbing images in the film, the program may not be suitable for children.
