The five-member Livingston Town Council passed a unanimous resolution on Nov. 14 condemning the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement aimed at Israel.

In a move inspired by the Israel World Affairs Committee of the Community Relations Committee of MetroWest NJ, the council voted to condemn “all efforts to delegitimize the State of Israel and the global movement to boycott, divest from, and sanction its government and people.”

Following the vote, council members and representatives of the CRC’s Israel World Affairs Committee gathered for a photograph behind a flag of Israel.

They are, from left, Rabbi Elliot Mathias, chair of Greater MetroWest Community Relations Committee; Councilman Ed Meinhardt; Sheri Goldberg, chairwoman of the CRC Israel and World Affairs Committee; Councilman Michael Silverman; Mayor Alfred Anthony; Deputy Mayor Shaun Klein; and Councilman Rudy Fernandez.
