Rhoda Moshel Coleman

Rhoda Moshel Coleman, 70, of East Brunswick died Sept. 5, 2010. She was born and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Livingston in 1969 and East Brunswick in 1975.

After working as an elementary school history teacher in Brooklyn, Mrs. Coleman began teaching for the Middlesex County Regional Educational Services Commission in the late 1980s. In 1992, she received her Certification in Special Education and taught students with severe disabilities. She later became an active member of the NJEA, serving as an elected representative.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Brooklyn College in 1962.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, whom she married in 1965; three sons, Andrew, Russell, and Bradley; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 7 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to PBS Channel 13 or the East Brunswick Public Library.
