Robert Bloch

Robert (Bob) Bloch, 93, of Eureka, Calif., died June 17, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Union, New Providence, Stirling, and Delray Beach, Fla., before moving to Eureka seven years ago.

Mr. Bloch began his consulting engineering firm in 1965.

He studied engineering at Brooklyn Polytech.

He was a flight engineer and gunner for the Dale 832nd Crew during World War II.

He tutored English as a second language.

He began writing poems upon his retirement, composing 1,600 of them.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janice; two daughters, Susan (Bill) Bloch-Welliver of Eureka and Cathy (Butch) Bergh of Elmira, NY; a sister, Cynthia Frumhoff of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and a granddaughter. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Food for People or Hospice of Humbolt, both in Eureka.
