Robert Kay
Robert Sheldon Kay, 92, of Monroe Township died Feb. 3, 2015. He was formerly of Millburn.
Mr. Kay was retired as an entrepreneur who started, built, and then sold numerous employment agencies in the Millburn and Springfield area.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving injuries in France while delivering messages for the Signal Corps that could not be transmitted.
He was involved for many years in the Rotary Club in Millburn and was a longtime member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun of Short Hills.
Predeceased by his wife, Flora, in 1975, and a daughter, Julia Joan, in 1996, he is survived by his son, Sheldon (Ann Stephenson) of Tewksbury; a daughter, Beth (Gary) Copp of Michigan; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Mary Jane Rapp.
Private services were held with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Somerville; a memorial service will be held in the summer.
