Rose Kwasnik

Rose Kwasnik (Cherr), 94, of Montville died June 24, 2020. She was born and raised in Passaic and later lived in Rutherford.

Mrs. Kwasnik attended Passaic High School and then Newark Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing, where she became a registered nurse. She ended her nursing career working at Hudson Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in West New York.

She was the PTA president of Union Elementary School, Rutherford Junior High School, and Rutherford Senior High School. She was also a member of the sisterhood at Temple Emanuel in Passaic.

Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Irving, she is survived by two daughters, Melinda Kraus of Parsippany and Randi Kurtas of Lancaster, Pa.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held June 25 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chelsea at Montville Holiday Fund (165 Changebridge Rd., Montville) or Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
