Ruth Miller

Ruth Florence Miller (Glassner), 90, of West Orange died Sept. 29, 2014. She also had resided in Cranford, in Springfield for three years, in Maplewood for 23 years, and in Manalapan for 25 years.

During World War II, Mrs. Miller worked for the ODB and later she and her husband, Melvin, operated Joe’s Sweet Shop in Bloomfield. They then owned their own bag shop, the Bag Boutique in Irvington, before working together at Bags With Love at the Union Market Place.

She played the piano and gave piano lessons.

Predeceased by her husband in 1984, she is survived by two daughters, Marlyn Miller and Holly Siegel; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 1 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
