Ruth Yurman

Ruth Yurman, 91, of Manchester died Nov. 23, 2011. She was born in New York City, grew up in Bridgeport, Conn., and moved to Kearny as a teenager, where she lived for over 50 years before settling in Manchester 25 years ago.

Mrs. Yurman worked as the executive secretary to the rabbi at Congregation B’nai Israel, Kearny, for over 20 years.

She was a past member of B’nai Israel and Ahavat Shalom, Lakewood, and most recently was a member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Toms River.

She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the NJ Jewish War Veterans, Hudson County, and JWV Post #538.

Predeceased by her daughter, Lois Yurman, she is survived by her husband of 71 years, Max; her son, Alan of Lakewood; a brother, Paul Lerner of Franklin Twp.; a sister, Harriet Radin of San Diego; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 27 with arrangements by Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to NJ Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.
