Sanford Alexander
Sanford (Pfeferstein) Alexander, 92, of West Orange died Oct. 24, 2014. Born in Elizabeth, he and his family moved to Newark. He then lived in South Orange for over 30 years; Deerfield Beach, Fla., for 10 years; and most recently resided in Livingston.
Mr. Alexander was a residential and commercial interior designer in Union for over 45 years.
He graduated from Weequahic High School, Newark, in 1938.
As a veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He traveled to India during World War II to entertain the troops.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bette (Lebowitz); his son, Barry of Los Angeles; his daughter, Loren (Alexander) Bremmer of Florham Park; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Oct. 26 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
