Sanford Gold

Dr. Sanford Stuart Gold, 85, of Middletown died Oct. 4, 2019. He was born and raised in Newark.

Dr. Gold had a dental practice in Keyport for 43 years.

He graduated from Weequahic High School, Newark, in 1953. He attended Rutgers University and New York University Dental School, where he was inducted into the Honorary OKU Dental Fraternity and received the University Founders Day Award; he graduated in 1958.

He spent two years at the Wurtsmith U.S. Air Force Base in Oscoda, Mich.

He was an avid runner and also enjoyed boating and fishing, wood sculpting, and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy (Raff); two sons, Jeffrey (Lisa) of Ocean and Robert (Kimberly) of Middletown; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 6 at Temple Shalom, Aberdeen, with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research, UM Sylvester Cancer Center, Boca West Chapter.
