Saul Seltzer
Saul Seltzer, 87, of Watchung died Aug. 14, 2017.
Mr. Seltzer was a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. He designed bridges and roadways for the Baltimore County Road Department after his college graduation. He was employed by Towers Malls, designing shopping malls in Canada, and by W.D. Snyder and Sons as chief engineer. He started his own design/build construction and engineering firm in 1979, S. Seltzer Construction Corp., working with his wife, Sylvia, and son, Scott, for the past 38 years.
He was a graduate of the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering.
He was a founding member of the Northern N.J. Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Kenilworth Manufacturers Association, and a member and past president of the N.J. Society of Professional Engineers. Among his numerous design honors, he was a past recipient of Engineer of the Year honors and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He was a life member of NCJW and Jewish Federation Builders Division.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; two daughters, Lori-Jill Seltzer of Oakland, Calif., and Mindi Samer of Westfield; his son, Scott (Sharon) of Warren; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 16 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Federation or NCJW.
